At Precious Foundation for Women, Children & Adolescents (PFWCA), we are committed to ensuring our website is accessible and inclusive for everyone, regardless of ability. As part of our mission to express the love of God through care, we aim to provide a digital experience that is clear, usable, and respectful to all users.

Accessibility Standards

We measure our website accessibility against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and are working toward meeting Level AA standards, which include all Level A requirements. These guidelines help ensure that our website can be accessed by people with a wide range of abilities and assistive technologies.

We recognise that not all areas of our website are fully accessible at this time, and we are actively taking steps to improve.

Recent Improvements

We have made the following enhancements to improve accessibility:

• Skip to Main Content: Visitors using keyboards can skip directly to the main content of a page, making navigation quicker and more efficient.

• Keyboard Navigation: The website supports smooth and consistent navigation using a keyboard.

• Structured Headings: Page headings have been reorganised to follow a clear and logical hierarchy, supporting screen-reader users.

• Improved Focus States: Links and interactive elements now display a clear visual focus, helping users identify active elements.

Planned Accessibility Improvements

We are continuing to address the following areas:

• Colour Contrast: Some text does not yet meet recommended contrast levels. We are reviewing colour use to improve readability.

• Heading Mark-Up: Certain pages require improved heading structure to meet accessibility standards.

• Alternative Text: Some images are still missing descriptive alternative text, which we are in the process of adding.

Accessibility remains a priority for PFWCA, and improvements will continue throughout 2025 and beyond.
