About PFWCA Nigeria

Restoring Health, Dignity & Hope Through Community Care

Precious Foundation for Women, Children & Adolescents (PFWCA) Nigeria is a registered non-governmental organisation committed to improving the health and wellbeing of vulnerable women, children, adolescents, and underserved communities through healthcare outreach, prevention, education, and empowerment initiatives.

Our focus is on early detection, prevention, and health education, ensuring that underserved families receive the care and guidance they need before conditions become severe.

Our outreach model brings healthcare directly into trusted community spaces, making it easier for women, children, adolescents, and families to access essential health checks.

Working alongside PFWCA UK, we deliver outreach programmes across local governments in Edo State, Nigeria. We are focused on restoring dignity, strengthening communities, and improving lives through compassionate and professional care.

What We Do

Community Health Screening

PFWCA Nigeria organises free community health screening outreaches focused on the early detection of preventable and long-term health conditions.

Our screening services include:

  • Blood pressure checks

  • Blood glucose and diabetes risk assessment

  • BMI and obesity-related risk assessment

  • Basic vision and wellbeing checks

  • Health education and preventive advice

These services are delivered in accessible community settings including schools, faith centres, community halls, and outreach venues.

Eye Care & Vision Support

We provide community eye care initiatives aimed at reducing preventable vision loss and improving quality of life.

Our eye care programmes include:

  • Free eye screening

  • Vision assessment and referrals

  • Distribution of prescription glasses

  • Support for sight-restoring procedures

For many individuals, these programmes provide their first access to professional eye care support.

Health Education & Awareness

We believe prevention begins with knowledge. Through outreach events and educational programmes, we provide practical health education focused on:

  • Chronic disease prevention

  • Cancer awareness and early detection

  • Maternal and child health

  • Mental health and emotional wellbeing

  • Healthy lifestyle awareness

Our sessions help individuals make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

     Our Approach

PFWCA Nigeria operates with professionalism, compassion, safety, and accountability.

Our programmes are:
✔ Delivered by trained healthcare professionals and volunteers
✔ Community-based and accessible
✔ Focused on prevention and early intervention
✔ Guided by ethical and safeguarding principles
✔ Designed to strengthen long-term community wellbeing

We are committed to providing services in environments where individuals feel safe, respected, and supported.

Many individuals within underserved communities continue to face barriers to accessing essential healthcare services.

Conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, poor vision, and preventable illnesses often remain undiagnosed until complications occur.

Through health screening, education, and outreach programmes, PFWCA Nigeria helps communities access support earlier, improve health awareness, and reduce preventable health risks.

Why Our Work Matters

With over 18 years of clinical experience as a Registered General Nurse, my journey in healthcare has shown me the urgent need for accessible, compassionate, and preventive care within underserved communities. Across both hospital and community settings, I have witnessed how many individuals continue to suffer from preventable conditions simply because support arrives too late.

PFWCA Nigeria was founded from a deep commitment to bridge these gaps by bringing healthcare directly into communities through outreach, education, early detection, and practical support. Our mission is to ensure that vulnerable women, children, and adolescents are not left behind due to poverty, limited healthcare access, or lack of awareness.

Guided by faith, compassion, and service, PFWCA Nigeria represents a vision of restoring dignity, improving wellbeing, and creating hope for individuals and families across our communities. Through every outreach programme, health screening, and intervention, we remain committed to serving humanity with professionalism, integrity, and care.
